I loved how she thanked you for learning her language. Even when we’re not fluent, trying means something, and more often than not, leaves everyone laughing. In your case, that would be everyone other than your rival!!!
Well done for charming the lady, I have failed numerous times and eventually made my appointment at Neapoli because I wasn’t brave enough to go again!! My Greek needs attention!
A great story....and a very accurate picture of a visit to the Bank! Over the years, we have had varying experiences....
Long, hot waits, then one short visit with a very amenable lady, when we somehow managed to get Internet banking and a Bank card!! I think speaking some of the language does help. ♥️🇬🇷♥️
Yes - I think once you've resigned yourself that it won't be quick, and that you need to 'go with the flow', somehow it just starts to slot into place!!
Loved your banking story, Claire! So filled with wry realism, love of people despite their foibles, and the delights of how things are done in a place where you are a Claire and she is a human just like you.
One of these days I will write about the 23 steps it took to buy a teapot in a hardware store in SAri Lanka. And if you think Kriti has its set procedures, go buy a teapot in Sri Lanka!
Love from Elysoun, too, she loves your stories as much as me! = Doug Bullis

Yes, I'm sure I made lots of mistakes, but Greek is so complicated, people do love it if you're making the effort to learn!

Oh, now I definitely want to know about the 23 stages of buying a teapot! Thank you for your lovely comment, Douglas.
Fabulous Claire - I reckon you should be a writer!😁- Pete xx
Thanks Pete! You think so???
Hilarious! I wonder if your rival is still sitting there swearing and getting nowhere 😂
That's actually quite possible! Hadn't thought of that!
